Each LIT SUITE app supports specific file formats based on its purpose. Use this list to confirm compatibility before importing or sharing Case Files.

Document and Text Formats
✔️ Portable Document Format (.PDF)
The standard format for document presentation and production. Remove any password protection before importing. PDFs preserve layout and allow for annotations, redactions, and callouts.
Supported in: TrialPad, DocReviewPad, TimelinePad, ExhibitsPad
Partially Supported: TranscriptPad (will import in to Exhibits folder)
✔️ Text File (.TXT)
Used primarily for deposition and trial transcripts.
Supported in: TranscriptPad
Partially Supported: TrialPad, DocReviewPad, ExhibitsPad
Page formatting is not supported. A transcript will lose formatting, but page and line numbering will still match the official transcript.
Not Supported: TimelinePad
✔️ Excel (.XLSX)
Excel files are supported in TimelinePad for importing events to your timeline.
Supported in: TimelinePad
Not Supported: TrialPad, TimelinePad, DocReviewPad, ExhibitsPad

Image Formats
✔️ Tagged Image File Format (.TIF, .TIFF)
A legacy bitmap format still used for document production. ExhibitsPad supports both single-page and multi-page TIFF files.
Supported in: TrialPad, DocReviewPad, TimelinePad, ExhibitsPad
Partially Supported: TranscriptPad (will import in to Exhibits folder)
✔️ Joint Photographic Experts Group (.JPG, .JPEG)
A standard bitmap image format used for photographs and other images.
Supported in: TrialPad, DocReviewPad, TimelinePad, ExhibitsPad
Partially Supported: TranscriptPad (will import in to Exhibits folder)
✔️ Portable Network Graphics (.PNG)
A bitmap image format used for high-quality images, graphics, or exhibits requiring transparency.
Supported in: TrialPad, DocReviewPad, TimelinePad, ExhibitsPad
Partially Supported: TranscriptPad (will import in to Exhibits folder)
Video and Audio Formats

Video Formats
✔️ QuickTime (.MOV)
✔️ MPEG-4 (.MP4)
Standard video formats for playback and presentation.
Supported in: TrialPad, TranscriptPad (when linking to imported transcript), TimelinePad, ExhibitsPad
Not supported in: DocReviewPad
Audio Formats
✔️ Waveform Audio File (.WAV)
✔️ MPEG Audio Layer-3 (.MP3)
✔️ Audio Interchange File Format (.AIF, .AIFF)
All are standard audio formats used for playback during trial or mediation.
Supported in: TrialPad, TranscriptPad (when linking to imported transcript), TimelinePad, ExhibitsPad
Not supported in: DocReviewPad
Compressed File Formats
✔️ ZIP (.ZIP)
Used to import or transfer multiple documents, transcripts, or exhibits. Compressed folders must be unzipped (expanded) before opening. Case Files cannot be worked on while still compressed or stored in third-party cloud storage.
Supported in: TrialPad, DocReviewPad, TranscriptPad, ExhibitsPad
Not supported: TimelinePad
Unsupported File Types
LIT SUITE apps don’t support file formats that are encrypted, proprietary, or not intended for litigation review or presentation.
Most word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation files must be converted to PDF before importing into any LIT SUITE app.
Avoid using the following file types:
Microsoft Office
