Organize LIT SUITE Case Files in the Files App and Finder
Use iPad and Mac Storage Locations to Organize Case Files Across Local Storage, iCloud Drive, and External Devices
You can organize LIT SUITE Case Files using the Files app on iPad or Finder on Mac. Both allow you to move, copy, and organize files across locations such as On My iPad, iCloud Drive, external drives, or supported cloud services.
Keeping Case Files organized in folders makes them easier to locate and import into LIT SUITE apps when needed.

Browse Storage Locations
Both iPad and Mac display available storage locations in the sidebar of the file browser.
Common locations include:

On My iPad or Mac local storage
-
iCloud Drive
-
External Storage (USB drives or other connected devices)

Third-party cloud services you have enabled

Move Case Files
You can move or copy Case Files between folders and storage locations using the Files app pn your iPad and with Finder on your Mac.
On iPad
Open the Files app.
Tap Browse in the bottom-right corner.
Select the location where the file is currently stored.
Find the Case File you want to move.
Press and hold the file.
Tap Move.
Choose the destination folder or storage location, such as On My iPad, iCloud Drive, or an external drive.
Tap Copy or Move.
On Mac
Open Finder.
In the sidebar, choose the location where the file is stored.
Locate the Case File you want to move.
Drag the file to another folder or location in the sidebar.
You can also right-click the file and select Move to if that option is available.
This is commonly used when transferring Case Files from a USB drive to the device or when organizing files between folders.
Move Files Using Drag and Drop
Both iPad and Mac support drag and drop.
Press and hold a file, then drag it into another folder or storage location. This is often the fastest way to organize Case Files.
Create Folders to Organize Case Files
Creating folders can help organize Case Files by matter, client, or hearing. You can then move Case Files into that folder to keep related materials together.
On iPad
Open the Files app.
Tap Browse.
Navigate to the location where you want the folder.
Tap the More button (•••).
Tap New Folder.
Enter a name for the folder.
Tap Done.

On Mac
Open Finder.
Navigate to the location where you want the folder.
Click File in the menu bar.
Select New Folder.
Enter a folder name.
