Cloud Storage and the LIT SUITE

How Cloud Storage Works With the Files App and LIT SUITE Apps

LIT SUITE apps use Apple’s Files system to access and import documents. They do not connect directly to any cloud storage provider.

All Case Files remain under your control. LIT SOFTWARE does not store, transmit, or manage your documents.

Cloud Storage Must Be Installed

To access a cloud storage provider on your device, its app must be installed and signed in.

On iPad, the cloud provider’s app must:

  • Be installed from the App Store

  • Be signed in

  • Be enabled in the Files app

On Mac, the provider’s desktop app must be installed and signed in if it uses a synced Finder folder.

If the cloud provider’s app is not installed or not signed in, it will not appear as a location when importing files.

How Cloud Storage Integration Works

To access a cloud storage provider (such as Dropbox, OneDrive, or Box) on your device, its app must be installed and signed in.

  • On iPad, cloud providers integrate through the Files app.

  • On Mac, cloud providers integrate through the Finder app.

When you import a file into a LIT SUITE app, you are selecting a file that the operating system makes available.

The connection exists between: Cloud Provider ↔ Operating System (Files or Finder)

There is no direct link between: Cloud Provider ↔ LIT SUITE

If you experience cloud-related issues, the cause is typically the cloud provider’s app, sync status, permissions, or configuration.

  • There is nothing to “link” or “unlink” inside a LIT SUITE app.

  • Signing out of a LIT SUITE app does not affect cloud storage access.

  • Cloud sync behavior is controlled by the cloud provider and the operating system.
