Starting Your Presentation

Connect your device to a display using a wired or wireless connection.

How to Use Output Controls

  1. Tap the Output switch to On.

  2. Use Blank, Freeze, and Present to control the external display:
    • Blank clears the screen.
    • Freeze holds the current image while you prepare another.
    • Present displays the content in the Preview Window.

  3. Collapse the Document List for a larger Preview Window.

Before you present, you can adjust War Room Mode, display, document, and multimedia preferences to control what your audience sees. See Customizing Your TrialPad Presentation Settings for details.

Tools While Presenting

Presenter Notes

Presenter Notes provide private cues for presenting, and can be compiled into a formatted report.

How to Use Presenter Notes

  1. Tap the Note tool to type a private note for the selected page.

  2. A note icon appears in the Document List for noted pages.

  3. Notes appear in the Presenter Notes Report, a PDF summary of your outline and key information.

Annotate Your Documents

Use callouts, highlights, redactions, and more while presenting documents in court or mediation. For more information, see Annotating Documents in TrialPad.

Direct Focus with the Laser

Use the Laser as a virtual pointer to direct a witness or the jury to a specific area of a document or multimedia file without marking it up. For more information, see Using the Laser to Direct Attention in TrialPad.

Zoom and Navigate

  • Pinch to zoom or double-tap to enlarge.
  • Double-tap top or bottom half to zoom into that section.
  • Double-tap again to return to full view.

Split Screen to Show Two Documents

Split Screen allows you to present two items side-by-side. Tap either side to make it active (shown with a red bar), then choose a new document, multimedia file, or a different page or frame. For more information, see Display Evidence Side by Side.

Finish with the Presentation Log

  1. Tap the Presentation Log button to view all presented documents and timestamps.
  2. Toggle Show Document Label to display exhibit and page number on screen.
  3. Tap Reports, then select Presentation Log to generate a PDF record.
