iPad Device Requirements

Find the best iPad configuration for performance, longevity, and an optimal experience with LIT SUITE apps.

The LIT SUITE apps (TrialPad, TranscriptPad, DocReviewPad, and TimelinePad) are available for iPad and Mac. ExhibitsPad is only available for iPad as it is designed to be an electronic exhibit binder given to witnesses, mediators, arbitrators, or jurors.

Many of our users have purchased an iPad just to use our apps as it's easy to integrate an iPad into your workflows whether you use Windows or any other platform. For example, you can work on your Windows machine and store your evidence in OneDrive, then you can import that same evidence into the LIT SUITE apps by accessing the OneDrive app on the iPad.

The iPad is reliable, easy to use, and manage without any technical assistance, and is also the most popular tablet used by lawyers.

iPad Device Requirements

For the best experience with our apps, we recommend choosing the latest iPad Pro or iPad Air models with the larger 13” screen size, and the newest Apple Silicon processors. These models offer the best performance and longevity, along with a spacious screen that makes it easier to work with documents and videos.

Recommended iPad Models:

  • Best Choice: The latest iPad Pro 13" offers the fastest processing speed and a large display, which is ideal for managing extensive documents and video content.
  • Good Alternative: The latest iPad Air 13" also features the same large screen size but comes with a slightly less powerful processor. It’s a good option if you want to balance performance with budget.

Recommended Storage Space:

  • 256GB is our minimum recommendation, and sufficient for most use cases.
  • 512GB or more is recommended if you plan to store a lot of video depositions, as videos take up significantly more space than documents.

Recommended Accessories:

  • Magic Keyboard: If your iPad is compatible, the Magic Keyboard (with built-in trackpad) is a valuable accessory for ease of use. https://www.apple.com/ipad-keyboards/
  • Apple Pencil: Apple Pencil adds precision when you use the Annotation Tools in TrialPad and DocReviewPad, and unlocks the full power of the Markup Tool, making it easy to handwrite notes, draw, and mark up documents with a natural pen-on-paper feel. https://www.apple.com/apple-pencil/

iPad Software Requirements

Our apps require that your iPad runs the latest version of iPadOS. Apple typically supports new iPad models with software updates, including new versions of iPadOS, for 5 years. This means that purchasing the latest iPad model will give you the most longevity, allowing you to continue using our apps and enjoying the latest features and security updates for years to come.
