Importing Files in DocReviewPad
Learn where imported evidence appears in DocReviewPad, supported file types, and how to import them directly into folders.
In DocReviewPad all evidence that is imported is found within it's folder in the sidebar. Folders can be created here to provide a layer of organization, and files can be imported directly into a Folder. A progress bar tracks the import, so you can keep working in DocReviewPad while files finish importing in the background.
Importing Locations
DocReviewPad can import evidence from several storage locations, including:
- On My iPad
- iCloud Drive
- USB drives
- Third-party cloud providers
Please review Supported File Types in DocReviewPad prior to importing.
Importing Files
Documents include PDFs and other supported document formats. Document files can only be imported into the Documents tab.
How to Import Files into DocReviewPad
Tap the + button in the lower-left corner.
Select Import Files
Navigate to the storage location.
Select file or files and tap Open to confirm import.
Choose where to import — the current folder is highlighted, or you can select a different folder or create a new one — then tap Select.
Importing Folders
You can import an entire folder of documents and multimedia together while preserving its structure.
How to Import a Folder into DocReviewPad
Tap the + button in the Evidence List.
Select Import Folder.
Navigate to within the folder you want to import.
Tap Open to confirm import.
If the folder contains both documents and multimedia, choose whether to import both or documents only, then choose a destination for each type and tap Select.
Third-party cloud providers do not support direct folder import.
If the folder is stored in a cloud provider, first compress it into a ZIP file using the Files app. Then import the ZIP file using Import Files. DocReviewPad automatically extracts the contents and restores the folder structure — including a mix of documents and multimedia, if the ZIP contains both.
