Apple TV Settings for Trial

Configure your Apple TV for wireless presentations with TrialPad, ensuring a reliable and secure setup for court or mediation.

Set up Apple TV to present wirelessly from your iPad using Peer-to-Peer AirPlay.

How to Prepare Apple TV for Trial or Mediation

  1. Reset Apple TV
     • Open Settings > System > Reset.
     • Tap Reset and Update, then tap it again to confirm.

  2. Initial Setup
     • When prompted, skip Wi-Fi, Apple ID, and TV Provider setup if using solely for presentation.

  3. Update Software
     • Open Settings > System > Software Updates.
     • Tap Update Software, and set Automatically Update to On.

  4. Adjust General Settings
     • Go to Settings > General.
     • Tap Screen Saver > Start After > Never.
     • Tap Sleep After > Never.
     • Ensure Restrictions are set to Off.

  5. Configure AirPlay Settings
     • Go to Settings > AirPlay and HomeKit.
     • Set AirPlay to On.
     • Tap Allow Access > Everyone.
     • Set Require Password to On, then enter a password.

How to Mirror Your iPad to Apple TV

  1. Connect Apple TV to a TV with an HDMI cable.

  2. On your iPad, swipe down from the upper-right corner to open Control Center.

  3. Tap Screen Mirroring, then select your Apple TV.

  4. Enter your AirPlay password if prompted.

  5. Tap away to close Control Center.

How to Present with TrialPad

  1. Open TrialPad—the external screen will remain blank until you're ready.

  2. Open a Case File and select a document or photo.

  3. Slide the Output switch to On, then tap Present.

  4. For multimedia files, tap Play in the Preview window. Audio will play through the connected TV via HDMI.

Peer-to-Peer AirPlay allows your iPad to connect directly to the Apple TV without requiring Wi-Fi or internet access.
