Exporting from DocReviewPad
Choose what to export, what to include, how files are named, and where they go when you export documents from DocReviewPad.
Export Overview
Your export is organized into six categories, so you share only what you need.
Choose Documents or Pages
Choose to export by Documents or by Pages.
- Documents will export the entire documents that were selected for Export.
- Pages will export individual pages from the documents that were selected for Export.
Select What to Export
Choose Export All on to export all documents or pages, regardless of Annotations or Issue Codes, or select specific Annotations or Issue Codes to export documents and pages based on Annotations applied or Issue Codes assigned.
Select What to Exclude
Items tagged Confidential or Privileged are excluded from the export by default. Turn off either switch to include them.
Choose What to Include with Export
Select what should be included with your export:
- Highlight, Pen, Redactions, or Markup: Select which Annotations to include as permanent markups on the pages in the export. Deselect them to export for a clean production set for opposing counsel, or leave them on for internal purposes or trial preparation.
- Notes: If TrialPad is selected as the destination, Note icons will not be displayed and the Note contents will be copied to the Presenter Notes on the corresponding page or video in TrialPad. If Files App is selected as the destination, Note icons will be displayed on the pages, and a separate page with the Note contents will be added immediately following the page containing the Note.
- Bates Numbers: stamp Bates numbers on exported pages.
- Summary Report: add a report listing every exported item.
Choose Naming Convention
Choose how exported files are named:
- File Names: uses the original file name, such as Document Name.pdf
- Bates Numbers: uses the Bates range, such as ACME-000001 - 000012.pdf
- Both: uses the file name and the Bates range, in the order you specify
If there is a gap in the Bates numbering within a document, “!” will appear instead of “-” within the Bates range. Ghost Bates numbers are used in the file name, but the number not exported on the page.
Choose the Destination for Export
Choose where your export will go:
- TrialPad: documents import into a date-labeled folder in the Documents tab, and videos import into the Multimedia tab. Pages or videos assigned Issue Codes in DocReviewPad appear in corresponding Key Docs folders in TrialPad.
- Files App: Choose a folder in Files, such as On My iPad, iCloud Drive, or a USB drive, or Desktop or Documents on Mac.
