This may happen if you’ve imported a PDF as opposed to a TXT file of the transcript.
Transcripts have to be imported as native TXT files in order to be used in TranscriptPad. This is the standard file format created by court reporters/stenographers, and is the file type universally accepted by transcript review software.
If you import a PDF file of a transcript you will be able to view it, the same way you can view PDFs of exhibits to a deposition, but you will not be able to use the TranscriptPad features and capabilities unless you import a TXT file.
If you have a transcript that is only available as a PDF file we recommend importing it into DocReviewPad where you can assign Issue Codes to certain pages of the transcript, and add sticky notes where you can refer to certain lines of a page.
