Using Guided Access and Password Protection

Keep users focused in ExhibitsPad and prevent access to other apps or settings.

ExhibitsPad offers two levels of security to keep users within the app and protect your exhibits from unwanted changes.

  • Guided Access: A built-in Accessibility feature on every iPad, locks the device to a single app, such as ExhibitsPad. This ensures users can only view exhibits and can’t switch to other apps or settings.
  • Password Protection: Built directly into ExhibitsPad, this adds an additional layer of control. It prevents users from leaving the case, deleting exhibits, or making any modifications without entering the correct password.
Together, these safeguards help maintain focus, security, and the integrity of your exhibits.

Password Protect ExhibitsPad

To further restrict access, you can set a password within ExhibitsPad itself. This prevents users from leaving the app’s Home Screen or deleting or adding exhibits.

How to Add a Password in ExhibitsPad

  1. Go to Settings > ExhibitsPad > Password.

  2. Tap the Password field and enter an alphanumeric password.

  3. For simplicity, use the same passcode as Guided Access.

When a password is set, users viewing exhibits will need to enter it to return to the ExhibitsPad Home Screen.
