Creating Map Images

TrialPad lets you generate a map or satellite image directly within a Case File to show the location of an incident, event, or point of interest.

Add a map or satellite image

  1. In your Case File, tap the Plus button.

  2. Tap Add Map.

  3. Use the search bar to enter an address, or pan and zoom manually to the location.

At the top of the map popover, choose one of the following views:

  • Map: Default flat view with streets and labels.

  • Satellite: Aerial photo.

  • Hybrid: Aerial photo with map labels.

  • Tap 3D in Satellite or Hybrid to change angle and orientation.

Save your map image

  1. Tap Save.

  2. Enter a custom name or use the default timestamped name.

  3. Tap Create TrialPad Map.

When prompted:

  • Tap Open to immediately view and annotate the map.

  • Tap Done to save it to the automatically created TrialPad Maps folder.

If you searched for a location, TrialPad adds a label at the top of the saved image. To hide the label, use the Redact tool.

Move your map image

  1. Tap Select and choose the map image.

  2. Tap Edit > Move.

  3. Choose a new folder such as a witness or issue folder.
