Whether you’re reviewing deposition testimony on the go, multitasking while prepping for trial, or simply prefer hearing the content aloud, TranscriptPad’s Speak Transcript feature can make a big impact.
How to Use Speak Transcript
- Tap Speak Transcript in the bottom toolbar.
- Turn on Speak Transcript.
- Choose the voices you want for questions and answers.
Select different voices to distinguish between questions and answers.
Use any voice installed on your iPad (Enhanced voices are recommended for better quality). - Tap Play to start listening.
While listening you can adjust playback speed from 0.5× to 2×.

Use Enhanced Voices
Improve your listening experience by downloading enhanced voices on your iPad. Apple includes a wide variety of high-quality voices in multiple accents and languages, but you’ll need to download them first.
How to Use Enhanced Voices
- Open the Settings app on your iPad.
- Navigate to Accessibility > Spoken Content (you may also see Read and Speak)
- Tap on Voices.
- Tap on English, then scroll to see available voices.
- Tap the download icon next to any voice you’d like to add.
- Once downloaded, you’ll be able to select these voices directly in TranscriptPad.
We recommend trying Apple’s Enhanced voices for the most natural-sounding speech. Some of our favorites include:
Ava (Enhanced) – Clear and friendly
Nathan (Enhanced) – Calm and professional
Evan (Enhanced) – Smooth and neutral
Susan (Enhanced) – Crisp and articulate
