Creating a New Case File on Your Mac

Learn how to create a new Case File, name your Case File, and save it locally or to iCloud Drive for easy access and file management from your Mac.

How To Create a New Case File on Your Mac

You may want to start by creating a folder on your Mac desktop for your matter - for example, Smith v. Jones.

  1. Open the LIT SUITE app you want to use: TrialPad, TranscriptPad, or DocReviewPad.

If you are using TimelinePad, please see: Creating and Naming a New Timeline
  2. Choose a location in the Open dialog to store your Case File. If you made a folder on the desktop, navigate to the folder.
  3. Click New Document.
  4. In the Template Picker, choose:

    • Bare Arms v. Brotherwell to explore a sample Case File, or

    • Empty Case File to start fresh with your own materials.

  5. Enter a descriptive name for your Case File, such as Smith v. Jones.

  6. Tap Create New Case File.

Your Case File is saved in the folder you selected. You can keep it on your desktop, move it to another location on your Mac, or store it in iCloud Drive for access on another device.
