Create Impeachment Slides for TrialPad

Create and export formatted Impeachment Slides from TranscriptPad to TrialPad to prepare and control your cross-examination presentation.

Use the Impeachment Slides report in TranscriptPad to prepare cross-examination materials that can be quickly presented in TrialPad. Each slide includes the testimony designation, deponent name, deposition details, and source page/line information—formatted for courtroom use.

Create Impeachment Designations

Designations determine what appears on each impeachment slide.

How to Create Impeachment Designations

As you review a transcript, select the testimony you want to use.

  1. Tap the blue line numbers to select the start and end of a designation.

  2. Tap the Flag button.

  3. Optionally, add a Note—this could be a reference, reminder, or a draft of your cross-examination question.

Best Practice: Use Flags (instead of Issue Codes) to ensure each designation remains a separate slide, even if they appear consecutively in the transcript.

Create Reports

Create a PDF Detail Report (Optional)

You can generate a text-based summary to follow your cross outline.

How to Create a PDF Detail Report

  1. Tap Reports, then choose PDF Detail.

  2. Turn on only the Flags and Flag Notes options.

  3. Tap Create Report to preview a text-based summary.

  4. Use this printout to follow your cross outline with matching designation numbers and notes.

Create the Impeachment Slides Report

Generate presentation-ready slides directly from your flagged designations.

How to Create the Impeachment Slides Report

  1. Tap Reports, then select Impeachment Slides.

  2. Under options:

    • Choose White or Black background.

    • Select One or Multiple PDF Documents (recommended).

    • Add a file name prefix, such as the witness’s initials (e.g., “CC” for Casey Cook).

    • Turn on only the Flags switch.

  3. Tap Create Report to generate and preview the slides.

If you choose Multiple PDFs, be sure to Save to Files before sharing elsewhere. When exporting multiple PDF files, you may notice that only one file transfers. This is a limitation of iPadOS when sending multiple files between apps using the share sheet.

Export to TrialPad

On iPad

If you created Multiple slide files, save them to Files first.

How to Export Multiple Slides on iPad

  1. Tap Export All.

  2. Choose Save to Files and save the slides into a new folder.

  3. Open TrialPad and select or create a Case File.

  4. Tap the Plus button in the Documents list, then tap New Files.

  5. Open the saved folder, select the slides, and tap Import Selected Files.

If you created One combined PDF, you can send it directly to TrialPad.

How to Export One Combined PDF on iPad

  1. Tap the Export icon.

  2. Select the TrialPad icon.

  3. In TrialPad, select or create a Case File.

  4. Tap the Plus button, then tap New Files.

  5. Select the exported file and tap Import Selected Files.

On Mac

On Mac, always save the slides first.

How to Export Slides on Mac

  1. Click Create Report and save the file or files in Finder.

  2. Open TrialPad and select or create a Case File.

  3. Click the Plus button, then choose New Files.

  4. Select the saved file or files and click Import Selected Files.

The slides are now ready to present and annotate in TrialPad, giving you instant access to impeachment material during trial.
