For privacy and security reasons, Apple does not allow apps that run on iPadOS to see what audio devices (e.g. AirPods) are connected to your iPad, and apps cannot select to output to one device over another. To control where media is allowed to be sent, apps must choose from a set of pre-defined categories that imply where playback should (or should not) occur. Unfortunately, the same category that turns off output in the courtroom also disables output to devices such as AirPods. We are looking into ways we can safely allow output to devices such as AirPods, but preventing accidental media playback in the courtroom is always our top priority.
